Today’s #GoodNewsCalloftheDay goes to a young man who not only understood a tricky skill for first graders, he took his learning further by helping a friend understand it, breaking it down so it made sense!

Mr. Jordan was super impressed with how this young man connected his learning in geometry to what he was seeing while watching the Olympics! Awesome to see learners make real world connections to their learning! #GoodNewsCallOfTheDay

In art, this young lady was creating a piece of drip art on her own, which turned into her teaching a lesson on this style to her fifth grade peers. Mrs. Secor said it was AMAZING to see this young lady share her passions & ignite the passions of others! #GoodNewsCallOfTheDay

Mrs. Kockx has seen incredible growth in this young man’s reading since the beginning the year! She nominated him for a #GoodNewsCallOfTheDay because she seen his confidence and application of strategies soar this year! Fun to walk down the hall and share with his mom!

Mrs. Fagerland has seen these two learners go out of their way to make sure others in their classroom are included & feel welcome! They do this naturally – not something ever asked of them! Love to see kids’ hearts and compassion for one another! #GoodNewsCalloftheDay

A shout out from Mrs. Enebo to this young lady! She was pulled from the classroom for a bit & when she returned she chose to stay in from recess to finish her work, even though it wasn’t expected. Awesome to see such perseverance & dedication from learners! #GoodNewsCallOfTheDay

Our first grade learners had the chance to learn about Caitlyn Carman’s legacy & the life lessons she continues to inspire. A big thank you to Caitlin’s mom, Barb, for sharing Caitlyn’s story & donating books to each of our first grade learners in her honor! @livelikecat

The past two weeks, our learners had an amazing time diving into the book, The Wild Robot by Peter Brown. One Book, One School gave our learners immersive experiences with a beautiful story AND an opportunity to collaborate with our HHS fabrication class who designed & constructed our very own “wild robot,” now on permanent display in our courtyard. All of this came to be because of the passions and creativity of some of our amazing teachers! A huge thank you to Mrs. Oster, Mrs. Secor, Mrs. Drexler, & the entire Liberty team for making this possible for our kids! Check out this video that shows the making of Liberty’s wild robot! https://tinyurl.com/bdd42vwb

Mrs. Secor nominated this young man for a #GoodNewsCallOfTheDay for stepping up to help a classmate out with a project who had been gone. She shared that he was incredibly patient and was an awesome teacher!

A shout out from Mr. Jordan for how this young lady engaged in math today. She was extremely helpful supporting other learners with problem solving and pushing themselves to learn new skills in geometry! #GoodNewsCalloftheDay
