General Announcements:  

  • Reminder 8th Graders:TONIGHT Harrisburg High School is offering an information session for learners and parents regarding both of these paths. They will also share information about the exciting new Early College program.  The meeting is scheduled for 7pm in the Performing Arts Center of the High School.  If you are not able to attend this meeting, another meeting will be held in early February.
  • There will be a WEB Dance committee meeting on today during advisory in the choir room.  If you are on the WEB dance committee, please attend.
  • Do you like to jump at Air Madness? Well, come out this Thursday, Jan 18th from 4-8pm to support Harrisburg High School After Prom.  Jump 30 minutes for $10 or 60 minutes for $15.  Half of all proceeds will be donated to the After-Prom program.
  • Learners: Do you need a pencil for class?  Pencils are available for 25 PBIS points in the library.  Ms. Jones is also selling other miscellaneous school supplies for learners who need them.  Items are available throughout the day but the best time to purchase them is before school so you don’t miss class.
  • 6th and 8th grade girls: Have you considered a career in Information Technology?  Technology careers are well-paid and in high demand.  However, few women seek out a career in this area.  Citibank is working to change this.  All 6th and 8th grade girls are scheduled to attend ‘Women in IT’, presented by Citibank.  ALL 6th grade girls will attend this presentation in the choir room on Wednesday, 1/17/18 during 8th period.  ALL 8th grade girls will attend the same presentation on Wednesday, 1/24/18 during 8thperiod.  We hope you enjoy learning more about these exciting careers!
  • 8th Grade Learners:  Are you getting excited for high school?  You and your family have a lot of decisions to make about high school in the next two months.  In early February, you will need to decide if you are going to enroll in the Customized Learning or Traditional Learning program.  Your parents will need to sign a form indicating that they agree with your choice.  In mid-February, you will learn about the classes available to you as a 9th grader.  You will need to choose the classes you want to take and register for these at this time.  Do you have questions about these items?  Don’t worry, there are opportunities for you and your family to learn more.  You will receive specific information about upcoming dates in your advisory class as well as via email.  If you have questions about these upcoming plans or about anything related to your transition to high school, please contact Mrs. Atwood.
  • 7th & 8th Grade girl’s basketball will be practicing at Horizon on January 19.  They will ride the bus with the gymnastic girls which is Gale’s bus (#09-3)  DISMISS AT 2:55
  • Our SDSU Honor Choir practices will be during advisory; practices will be Monday & Thursdays during advisory
  • BV Honor Choir will practice during advisory on Tuesday and Fridays; students report to your advisory teacher, get your items for the morning and come down to the choir room
  • Students can sign up for MakerSpace as a DS using Scheduler. If you sign up for MakerSpace, that is your DS. Come directly to the library for 8th period. If you have any questions, talk with Ms. Jones or Ms. Christopher.
  • 8th Grade basketball boys take Mike or Ethan’s bus (bus # 14 or #18) to Liberty for practice
  • 7th Grade basketball boys take Dan or Georg’s bus(#13 or #17) to Freedom  for practice
  • Bussing to Wings Gymnastics Academy; SMS will ride Horizon Bus with Gale (Eastside of School) – 09-3.  All gymnastics need to sit in the front seats ; Dismiss @ 2:55 p.m.
  • A reminder that all choir students need to bring devices to class.
  • Students who are coming down to the nurse or main office will need a pass from your teacher.
